Item Code Structure
itemCd is mandatory and must be unique — each item has its own
itemCd. The code is composed from four classification codes plus an
incrementing sequence.
Example
Code
| Segment | Value | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
KE | Country of origin | Kenya — see Country Codes |
2 | Product type | Finished Product — see Product Types |
NT | Packaging unit | NET — see Packaging Units |
BA | Quantity unit | Barrel — see Quantity Units |
0000012 | Sequence | Increments from 0000001 to N |
So KE2NTBA0000012 is the 12th finished product, of Kenyan origin, packaged in
a net and measured in barrels.
